Asanka’s curiosity about how things function started at a young age, and his family still continues to figure out how Asanka works to this day. He would often take apart whatever he could get his hands on, to understand how things are built and how they function. As you can imagine it didn’t translate well with his family and friends.
This curiosity continued well into adult life and enabled him to explore more in the fields of Engineering and Architecture. Upon graduating with a Diploma in Architecture and a bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Architecture in Australia and the UK, Asanka worked within Architectural practices and focused on Specification Consulting since 2008, putting his passion and skills to work.
Asanka has an innovative approach to problem-solving (“wife doesn’t seem to think so”), which combines artistic sensibilities with real-world mechanics. He enjoys creating personal connections with people and goes above and beyond to ensure their needs are met.
Outside of work, Asanka enjoys various activities such as survival training, Jujitsu, and coaching his kid’s team sports and tries not to blow himself up with his experiments.
