Steve Walton NS-UK National Specifications

Steve Walton

The first half of Steve’s exposure to the built environment was very much contractor-side in various procurement roles, transitioning to spec consultancy in 2002 when he joined Davis Langdon Schumann Smith (DLSS) in the UK.

Steve secured his professional qualification (MCIPS) in 1998 whilst in full-time work. In 2007 he took up an opportunity to run the DL PKS specification office in Dublin before returning to DLSS in 2009 to work mainly on the Foster account on a series of iconic schemes in the Gulf and US.

In 2017 Steve resigned his Partner position at RLB in London to start NS UK Ltd which he has run together with co-director Tai Odunaike working on a number of amazing projects with some wonderful clients who were instrumental in NS UK’s success from the get-go.

For Steve, client relationships underpin every other facet of consultancy, and perhaps one of the most gratifying aspects of running NS UK over eight years was to be able to convey the value set of the directors throughout every aspect of the firm.

Outside of work, Steve has a burgeoning grandchild count, and his extra-curricular passions include film, music and his road trips across the US. A life-long fan of the multi-Grammy award winning artist George Benson, Steve realised a dream being able to meet the man in person in 2014 just to be able to say ‘thank you, George’. A season-ticket holder at a certain (currently) Premiership North London football team synonymous with white and navy blue keeps Steve well and truly grounded.Â
